The Chair confirmed that the meeting was being broadcast live to the internet via the Council’s website and was capaable of repeated viewing. The images and sound recording may be used for training purposes within the Council.  All were asked to keep to the speaking guidelines which were outlined.  Any views expressed by any speakers in the meeting are the speaker’s own and do not necessarily reflect the view of High Peak Borough Council.

RESOLVED:
That the minutes of the meeting held on 1 October 2024 be approved as a correct record.

Members received a presentation from Peak Cluster.

The information covered the following;

·         Facilities

·         Cement – essential for construction

·         Reaching net zero

·         Value of the Peak Cluster Investment

·         Optimum decarbonisation option

·         Morecambe Net Zero

·         Peak Cluster Lifecycle

Members discussed green alternatives to cement, the timeframe for building the pipeline, measures to ensure minimal disruption during construction, efficiency of carbon capture and storage, regulation process, impact on bio diversity and government support.

RESOLVED:
That the presentation be received.

Members received a verbal update on the progress of the Annual Report and were advised it was proceeding through the internal processes.

Members discussed changes to the process to speed up the receipt of the final report.

Members received a verbal update on climate community engagement events attended and supported by Officers. These included Climate change Sustainability for Schools, Climate Clever Buxton Schools Conference and the HPBC Annual Green Day event.

The Chair discussed possible items for the January meeting, members had no further suggestions but were advised to contact Officers should they wish for something to be included.
