Recording Announcement

Minutes:

The Chair confirmed that the meeting was being broadcast live to the internet via the Council’s website and was capaable of repeated viewing. The images and sound recording may be used for training purposes within the Council.  All were asked to keep to the speaking guidelines which were outlined.  Any views expressed by any speakers in the meeting are the speaker’s own and do not necessarily reflect the view of High Peak Borough Council.

RESOLVED:
That the minutes of the meeting held on 16 July 2024 be approved as a correct record.

Air Quality Management Plan - Presentation (Dan McCrory) pdf icon PDF 11 MB

Minutes:

Members received a presentation on Air Quality which included the key areas;

·         What causes it?

·         Why is it harmful?

·         What can we do about it?

·         Key priorities and action plan.

 

Members thanked Officers for a detailed presentation.

Discussions took place concerning education in schools for children and parents, using the detailed statistics with other agencies, the accuracy and use of passive monitoring equipment and the use of trees.

 

RESOLVED:
That the presentation be received.

Community Engagement Day (verbal)

Minutes:

Members received a verbal update on the Community Engagement Day which would take place on 22nd October 2024 at New Mills Town Hall.

The purpose of the day is to upskill and empower projects within the community.

 

Members discussed the format of the day, how to reach out to other groups, and were asked to contact Officers with any suggestions.

That the update be received.

Plan for Nature Consultation (verbal)

Minutes:

Members received a verbal update following the end of the public consultation. Based on the feedback received Derbyshire Wildlife Trust would update and prepare a final report ready to take to The Executive committee.

 

Members discussed the use of trees as part of the plan and the consideration for ensuring that all areas were looked at.

Biodiversity Training (verbal)

Minutes:

Members were reminded of the Biodiversity training available to them.

That the training link be resent to all members.

Members suggested that the following were added to the work programme;

·         Recommendations from the Annual Report

·         Community Engagement Day update

·         Representatives from Tarmac be invited to discuss their Carbon Capture operations.
