Garage Plot Rental Increase PDF 338 KB Minutes: REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION
The report set out the current circumstances and charging regime for garage plots and recommended the implementation of a rent increase on Council-owned garage plats and a change to the garage licence to include an annual upwards only RPI linked (Retail Price Index) increase.
ALTERNATIVES CONSIDERED
As set out in paragraph 5 of the report.
RESOLVED:
1. That the implementation of an initial rent increase from £90 p.a. (plus VAT, apart from council tenants who do not pay VAT) to £200 p.a. (plus VAT, apart from Council tenants who do not pay VAT) from 1 January 2025 be approved;
2. That the implementation of an increase of the annual rent for garage plots on Elnor Lane, Whaley Bridge SK23 7HA garage plots to bring them into line with the Council’s other garage plots be approved; and
3. That the amendment of the garage licence so that there is an annual upwards only increase in the licence fee licence with the RPI every two years that takes place on 1 April each year, be approved.
