REASON FOR THE RECOMMENDATION

The Leader and Executive Councillor considered an update on the work of the Council with regards to the Armed Forces Covenant, recommending that the Council works towards the Silver Award of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme.

RESOLVED

1.    That the activities undertaken by the Council to comply with the Armed Forces Covenant, be noted and supported; and

2.    that work to be undertaken to apply for and gain the Silver Award of the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme and the amendment of the Council's Annual Leave and Time off Policy to increase from 5 to 10 days paid leave for reserve military training, be approved.
