Polling District and Polling Place Review. PDF 214 KB Additional documents: Minutes: The representation of the People Act 1983 required the Council to periodically review its polling places and polling stations. The Council’s previous review was undertaken in 2019.
The report explained the findings of the current review and made recommendations in respect of proposed changes. Any changes to polling stations as a result of the review would not come into force until the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner Elections on 2 May 2024.
RESOLVED:
· That the Committee noted the review undertaken and approved the proposals setting out changes to polling districts, polling places and polling stations as detailed at Appendix A, Appendix B and Appendix C of the report.
· That the revised arrangements take effect from 1 May 2024.

Street Trading - Draft Policy and Consultation. PDF 213 KB Additional documents:
Minutes: Members received a report which related to the revised Street Trading Policy 2024-2027 which has been updated and prepared for consultation.
Discussions were held concerning the current Street Trading Policy for locations throughout the District. The legal implications, enforcement and consultation processes were discussed.
Members suggested that all ice cream vans located throughout the District should be required to hold a street trading licence. Further information around this would be set out in a report at a future meeting.
RESOLVED:
· That the Committee approved the Policy for consultation in accordance with the timetable outlined at paragraph 8.2 of the report;
· That following the consultation period the Policy (together with a summary of key consultation comments) is brought back to the Licensing Committee in July 2024 for consideration. The final Policy will then be presented to Full Council for formal adoption at the next available meeting.

Enforcement Update. PDF 215 KB Minutes: Members received an update in relation to the enforcement activity undertaken withinthe Licensing Section in the period since the last meeting of the Committee.
It was noted that the move to digital notifications had seen an improvement in the renewal for licences.

That the Committee noted the contents of the report.
