Implementation of Personnel Checks pdf icon PDF 197 KB

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report on the progress of Personnel Checks to carry out the Disclosure and Barring checks for new and existing drivers. Contract requirements and reviews every 3 years were discussed.

 

RESOLVED:

 

1.    That the Implementation of Personnel Checks be reviewed in a year’s time.

 

2.    That the contents of the report be noted.

There was an update on the progress for the implementation of the Hackney Carriage Decals.  Promotion and monitoring usage were discussed.

Update on Approved Garages for Taxi Testing pdf icon PDF 216 KB

A report updated the Committee on the progress and revised timetable to implement a preferred garage Taxi Testing regime for Private Hire and Hackney Carriage licences.  Capacity for larger vehicles at Terry’s Tyres (Dove Holes) would be investigated, before adding to the list of approved garages.

 

RESOLVED:

 

1.    That a further update on Approved Garages for Taxi Testing be considered before 1 May 2018.

 

2.    That the contents of the report be noted.

Licensing Enforcement Activity, July 2017 - October 2017 pdf icon PDF 225 KB

Minutes:

Consideration was given to enforcement actions by the Licensing Service in the period July to October 2017.  Training, checks on takeaways with living accommodation and attempts to reactivate Pub Watch in New Mills were also considered.

 

RESOLVED:

 

1.    That Councillors be kept informed about Pub Watch meetings in their area.

 

2.    That the contents of the report be noted.

Re-Launch of Intoxicated Campaign pdf icon PDF 214 KB

There was an update on the re-launch of the Intoxicated Campaign.  The Police would be requested to consider a launch in the Central area. Councillors would be advised about any launch in their area. Packs available and t-shirts were also discussed.
