Buxton Broadband - Presentation from FullFibre Minutes: Matt Smith from Full Fibre Ltd gave a presentation on plans to build a fibre network in Buxton. Progress to date, plans, improving infrastructure, accessing network elements and benefits were outlined.
Issues discussed included: - Digital exclusion and the need for affordable rates for communities. - Social tariffs and pilot projects. - Potential for WiFi hotspots and projects with Town Councils. - Numbers of Internet Service Providers, small companies, changing market, mergers and migrating to other providers.
RESOLVED:
1. That the potential to provide free Wifi be investigated.
2. That the presentation be circulated to members.
3. That the presentation be received with thanks. |

Homelessness Strategy and Action Plan PDF 378 KB Additional documents:
Minutes: Members considered a report outlining the Derbyshire wide Homeless Strategy for 2022-27, developed through close collaboration with all Derbyshire Housing leads for each authority, Portfolio holders, NHS, Police, Probation and voluntary sector agencies.
Consideration was given to: - Cost of Living Group and County Council Household Support Grant funding. - Other support within the County. - Rough sleeping by choice and those begging not necessarily being homeless or from the Borough. - Out of hours contact option on the phone line. - Consideration of the Homes for Cathy project. - Project Officer being appointed and supported to deliver against the action plan. - Possibly extending the model to other housing issues. - Joint approach and work of Vision Derbyshire and Safer Communities Group. - 33 households in temporary accommodation. - Possible creative solutions including static caravans and Airbnb. - Temporary provision, working with other Councils while retaining any local connection.
RESOLVED:
That the report be noted and the delivery of the Homelessness strategy county wide be supported.
