DECISION:

That the minutes of the meeting of the Cabinet held on 1 April 2025, be approved as a correct record.

DECISION:

That the Forward Plan be approved for publication.

The report provided a summary of the responses received in relation to the proposals to introduce an Open Land Public Space Protection Order (PSPO) and sought to obtain approval to make the Order, with the purpose of;

·       Introducing measures to reduce the risk of wildfires in high-risk areas of the District, to protect public health and safety, property and the natural environment 

·       To comply with legislative requirements 

·       To ensure that those persons affected by ASB are afforded the protection provided by the Order. 

Members discussed the recent instances of wildfires in the area and how the Order would assist in reducing the risk of these arising.

Options considered:

The Council could choose not to introduce a PSPO in the terms suggested.

DECISION:  

1.     That the making of the Order as drafted (attached at Appendix A to the report) be agreed.

2.     That the approach to partnership working with relevant agencies including the authorisation of partner agencies to support the enforcement of the PSPO be agreed.

The Chair to Move:-

“That, pursuant to Section 100A(2) and (4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting in view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings whereby it is likely that confidential information as defined in Section 100A (3) of the Act would be disclosed to the public in breach of the obligation of confidence or exempt information as defined in Section 100 I (1) of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act would be disclosed to the public by virtue of the Paragraphs indicated.”

DECISION:

“That, pursuant to Section 100A(2) and (4) of the Local Government Act, 1972, the public be excluded from the meeting in view of the nature of the business to be transacted or the nature of the proceedings whereby it is likely that confidential information as defined in Section 100A (3) of the Act would be disclosed to the public in breach of the obligation of confidence or exempt information as defined in Section 100 I (1)  of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Act would be disclosed to the public by virtue of the Paragraphs indicated.”

DECISION:

That the exempt minutes of the meeting of the Cabinet held on 1 April 2025, be approved as a correct record.
